Provide First Aid (Release 1) - (First Aid)

What will you learn?

• Assessing emergency situations
• Performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Managing bleeding and wounds
• Treating burns, fractures, and sprains
• Responding to choking and allergic reactions
• Providing first aid for medical conditions like asthma and seizures
• Communicating details of the incident and reviewing the situation

By completing this course, you will be able to:

• Respond to an emergency situation calmly and effectively.
• Apply appropriate first aid procedures to preserve life and promote recovery.
• Communicate details of the incident to emergency services.
• Review the incident and your actions to identify areas for improvement.

Entry requirements:

• Minimum 14 years of age
• Physical ability to perform at least 2 minutes of CPR on a manikin on the floor
• Average literacy and numeracy skills
• Have a USI (Unique Student Identifier) or create one here

Full Qualifications:

• Gain a broader understanding of healthcare with a HLT33121 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or other healthcare qualifications.

Specialised Skills:
• Develop your skills in specific areas such as advanced first aid, emergency response, or paediatric first aid with relevant courses.

Short Courses and Skill Sets:
• Gain essential workplace skills: Combine this course with the TLIF0025 Follow Work Health and Safety Procedures course to enhance your workplace safety knowledge and response capabilities.

Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer. NTO can provide this service if required.

Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

NTO recognises skills from other sources besides formal training. If you have prior experience or qualifications, you may be eligible for RPL or Credit Transfer. This process reduces the need for repetition of learning.

RPL Process:

• Request RPL for partial or full qualification.
• Complete the RPL Assessment Kit.
• Trainer interview to assess your experience.
• If required, complete practical assessments.
• Gap training costs will be provided if necessary.
