Applying for a course as a domestic student

To be classified as a domestic student, you must meet one of the following criteria:

1. Australian Citizen

You must hold Australian citizenship, including dual citizenship.

2. New Zealand Citizen

You are eligible if you are a New Zealand citizen residing in Australia.

3. Australian Permanent Resident

You must have permanent residency with quality as a domestic student.

4. Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holder

If you have been granted a permanent humanitarian visa by the Australian government, you are eligible for domestic student status.

Why Your Status Matters

Being classified as a domestic student at NTO means you can benefit from:

  • Subsidised Tuition Fees: Access to reduced course fees through government funding programs.
  • Financial Assistance: Eligibility for schemes such as VET Student Loans to support your educational journey.

Residency Requirements

To maintain your domestic student status, you need to reside in Australia for the duration of your studies at NTO. This ensures you can fully participate in your course and take advantage of the resources we offer.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is mandatory for all students in Australia. This number helps track your training achievements and is crucial for enrolment at NTO. If you don’t have one yet, you can easily apply online.

Special Categories
